The average commuter cyclist can travel 5 miles in about 30 minutes. Perhaps the trip to your office, the grocery store, your child’s school, your favorite coffee shop, the neighborhood recreation center, your place of worship, or the library are within a five-mile radius.
Extend your reach: If you work in Chattanooga proper, you can use the Bike Chattanooga bike share system to get to lunch, a meeting across town, a park, the bank, or the gym. If your job site is not within walking distance of the bike share system, perhaps you could bring your bike along on the bus or strap your bike onto the roof rack of your car and use your own bike for the same trips.
